The Danube Delta!

In this post, we'll discuss one of the most beautiful fishing spots on Earth, The Danube Delta.

Looking fictional, The Danube Delta is located in Romania, with a small part of it in Ukraine.
Before emptying into the sea, the Danube River splits into multiple lakes, channels, marshes, and wetlands.
Covering around 4,152 square kilometers, the Danube Delta is the second-largest delta in Europe, but the best one preserved in the continent. Birds are a very important category of the Danube Delta's biosphere, here you'll find  Pelicans, Herons, Egrets, Cormorants, and many more.

    But what about fish?
The Danube Delta hosts over 100 species of fish, the most important being the Sturgeon.

The biggest species of Sturgeon, the Beluga, can reach 7 meters (23 feet) and a weight of over 1000 kg (2200 lbs), so yeah, here, the Sturgeon is the boss. Unfortunately, some, 50-100 years ago fishermen hunted those gigantic fish, for their eggs, Black Caviar, which has a big economic importance in the fish industry, meaning that the population has decreased, and now it's illegal to keep them.

As I said before, The Danube Delta is stocked with a very large number of fish species. Along the Sturgeon, we can find Pikes, Perches, Carp, Catfish, European Eels, and Zander. Those species are more popular than the other.

Traveling to Romania as an angler means fishing, so I will tell you the best places where you can fish.
The Danube River has a lot of branches so let's begin with those:

    - Sulina Branch (pike, catfish, zander, perch)
    - Chilia Branch (sturgeon-protected, carp)
    - Sfântu Gheorghe Branch (pike, zander, perch)

    Lakes:

    - Razelm-Sione Lake Complex (carp. pike, zander)
    - Lake Dranov (pike, perch)
    - Lake Gorgova (perch, zander, pike, carp)
    - Lake Fortuna (catfish, carp, pike, perch)

    And this is your map:

Specialists say that the best times for fishing in the Delta are early spring (April- May) and early autumn (September-October)

But before you fish here you'll need a fishing license, it's free and you only need your phone to get one, and you have to be careful if you want to keep the fish. The catch limits and size restrictions are those:

-For Carp, a minimum of 35 cm
-For Pike, a minimum of 40 cm
-For Zander, a minimum of 40 cm
-For Catfish, a minimum of 50 cm
-For Perch, a minimum of 15 cm

The Sturgeon is illegal to keep.

You are not allowed to keep more than 5 Kg per day, you can't have more than 3 hooks per line, and in some areas, nighttime fishing is restricted. Romania does have an inspection team that travels by boat every single day, so be sure you're not doing illegal stuff, or you'll get banned from fishing and you'll probably get yourself a hefty fine.

Alright! I hope you've already packed yourself for the fishing trip in The Danube Delta but most important of all I hope you enjoyed it!

Bass Fishing!

Bass fishing is the GOD of fishing, right? So, in this post, we'll discuss everything you must know about bass and bass fishing.     As you already know, there are more species of bass, the most popular being the Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, and Striped Bass. Let's talk about where you can find each one:      Largemouth Bass can be found in areas with ample cover, like weeds, lily pads, rocks, and submerged logs. In warmer months they tend to stay close to the surface, and in colder months they move toward deeper water where they can follow baitfish. You can find them in freshwater lakes, ponds, rivers, and reservoirs, especially in North America.     Smallmouth Bass are more sensitive to water temperature and quality, thriving in clear, rocky lakes and rivers with a moderate to fast current. They tend to hide around rocky structures, ledges, and deep pools. Most can be found in the northern U.S. and Canada.      Striped Bass can be...

The Sturgeon!

The sturgeon is a fish that carries with it an ancient lineage, tracing back over 200 million years. These prehistoric creatures have outlived dinosaurs, their armored bodies and distinctive features largely unchanged by the passage of time. With their elongated bodies, bony scutes along their backs, and long, whisker-like barbels near their mouths, sturgeon possess a unique, almost otherworldly appearance. They can grow to impressive sizes, with some species like the beluga sturgeon reaching lengths over 20 feet and weights exceeding a ton.     Sturgeon is mostly found in both freshwater and saltwater environments, depending on the species. Many of them are anadromous, meaning they migrate from saltwater to freshwater to spawn. Their habitats include rivers, lakes, and coastal regions across the Northern Hemisphere. Despite their ancient resilience, sturgeon populations face modern threats such as overfishing, habitat loss, and pollution, making many speci...

Equipment For Fishing Trips!

If you're going on a fishing trip and don't know what to bring? You are in the right place. In this post, we'll discuss the equipment for your trip and much more.     Ok, let's get straight to the point. We all know that when you have a day more and you're leaving for that fishing trip you're too excited and you can't sleep. Now, let me tell you how to fix that.  You can't.     Now that we've clarified this unfixable problem let's focus on more important things, like location. Location is the most important aspect in fishing. It doesn't matter if you've been to that place before because you just might find America again. So yeah, going to a place that you've never fished on it's not just a mystery, but an expedition too.     Good. We can now focus on the equipment. What do you take in? Rods! It doesn't matter what you fish for, the most important thing that you must normally have are rods! Multiple rods if you can, because a l...
